Going to IODC? Help us design the Global Beneficial Ownership Register

Grand corruption is a networked problem; to fight it we need a networked solution, and nowhere is this more true than who controls and benefits from companies. The Global Beneficial Ownership Register will tackle this, by collecting and linking together beneficial ownership datasets and self-disclosed corporate data. By doing this, it will enable investigators and corruption fighters see the connections between ownership of companies and trusts the world over, and allow governments and business to more easily see who they are really doing business with.

Here’s how you can help.

We would like to get your help to ensure the world’s first global and open register of beneficial owners of companies is a success, by exploring user needs and use cases.

In this interactive session at the Open Standards Day in the lead up to International Open Data Conference, we will collaborate on specific use cases and data needs by key users of the register. The session will also test our assumptions on what the register needs to deliver to provide the transparency needed to reduce fraud and corruption.
