Hello. Tell us about who you are & what your role is at OpenCorporates.
Hello, I’m Jenny. In January, I joined OpenCorporates as the Accounts and Administration Executive. My role is to keep the OpenCorporates office running smoothly, providing essential support, and assisting the implementation of our new corporate structure.
What drew you to OpenCorporates?
When I first heard of OpenCorporates, I was intrigued by the public-benefit for-profit business model, and of course, the mission to increase transparency and open data in the corporate world. I think it’s really worth fighting for, and so I was very excited to come on board and be a part of that.
Where did you grow up?
I spent my childhood across London, Buckinghamshire and Cheltenham in the UK, but also spent a few years during my teens in the Netherlands and Canada. Very much felt like a global citizen by the time I went to university.
What’s your favourite childhood snack?
Mini rolls (UK) and Twizzlers (US). I can’t decide. But definitely not together.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
A very difficult question – I have a fairly long list!
What do you like doing in your spare time?
I was part of a few sports teams at university, but I just play for a football team and go to the gym at the moment – I might pick up baseball again for the summer months. I’m also trying to make the most of living in London, so always finding new experiences.
What’s your favourite book/movie/tv show and why?
My favourite movie – based purely on view count – is Coach Carter.
