OpenCorporates selected as European Digital Pioneer

OpenCorporates was today recognised by the Financial Times, Google and leading European policy makers as one of 100 digital pioneers in Europe!

We’ve been included in a special report from the Financial Times, Europe’s Road to Growth. The report highlights individuals, organisations and companies tackling new challenges presented by digitalisation in interesting ways.

We celebrated at an event at Google’s Digital Atelier in Brussels, where EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel congratulated all the winners, alongside Matt Brittin, President of Business & Operations for Google Europe, Middle East, & Africa.

OpenCorporates has grown a lot over the past 8 years, but we’ve always been a collaborative, community project. We’d like to take a moment to say a huge thanks to everyone who uses our data, and in doing so works towards a world of open, transparent and trusted company information by design and default.

We’re also extremely proud to see the power of open data recognised more broadly – OpenCorporates sits alongside the Open Data Institute, where OpenCorporates was incubated many years ago (alongside a few of our team members).
