Dark Money Conference: Joining the data dots

Stopping illicit financial flows and disrupting financial crime requires a coordinated response.

Law enforcement, financial services firms, investigative reporters and many others all have a role to play – including, now more than ever, data and tech providers.

That’s why Rebecca Lee, our Chief Impact Officer, will deliver a keynote presentation at the upcoming Dark Money Conference.

The virtual conference, which runs from 15 to 17 September, will bring together hundreds of attendees from across the anti-financial crime community to discuss solutions to combating financial crime – with a collaborative approach.

Rebecca will join a speaker lineup including representatives from Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), Europol, PwC and Transparency International. Philip Creed, Director of fscom, along with Graham Barrow and Ray Blake, presenters of The Dark Money Files podcast, will host the conference sessions.

Joining the data dots

Day 3 of the conference (17 September) is based on the theme of ‘Turning defence into attack’, and as part of this Rebecca will deliver a keynote presentation on ‘Joining the data dots’.

Rebecca will outline how open company data is working to shine a light on cross border illicit activity and what more we should be doing.

Watch our workshop

In case you missed it, Rebecca delivered a video workshop at last year’s conference on ‘How to use OpenCorporates to uncover hidden links in your next investigation’.

Graham and Ray of The Dark Money Files joined her and explained why they use OpenCorporates in their anti-financial crime investigations.
